Photoshop Freaky Images- Owain Davies

Below are two freaky images that I made on Photoshop, one of them is a shark with two eyes on one side of his head and an extra scar/ scratch on it's body.

Below is another sea creature (forgot it's name) but me and a friend created it on Photoshop, we decided to add an extra head and an extra eye, we used the smudge tool to make their heads look merged (or joined together).

The tool that I used in my picture (at the top) is the "Clone Stamp Tool".

Shampoo Bottle Label

I was set a task to research a label for the product I was selling; my product was shampoo so I found a picture of a shampoo label on the internet and I copied the dimensions of the image (the dimensions were in Pixels) and I also went on the internet and searched for a converter from Pixels to Centimeters.

I then discovered that Photoshop also allows pixels as a form of measurement.
I decide to use the dimensions of the label I found as a template for my own.

The tools I used were:

• Transform Tool
• Edit > Transform > Warp
• Paint Bucket Tool

Here is a screenshot on Adobe Premiere, my work is ready to be edited and finished off.
We were set a task to go out and choose 3 locations where we would film our advert and once it came to doing so we went to our location and filmed the parts that was set for the location.
The cast were as follows: Victoria (Director), Beth (lighting operator),
We haven't really done much on Adobe Premiere.

The first week

In the first week we were asked to get into random groups and ask each other questions like: what's your name?, how old are you? Do you have a nickname and what is it?  It was generally a lesson to break the ice, getting to know each other, it wasn't really a proper lessons. 
The people I met this week were: "Bethany" (nickname: "Beth") and "Rosie" (or nickname: "Rose")
Also were set a task to find 2 freaky images on the internet

Second week

In the second week we were introduced to the camera and to the types of shots that you can take with a camera and also was introduced into the rules that apply to photograph, for example; The rule of thirds and were also asked to identify the rules in a quick PowerPoint.

Third week

In this third week, we were introduced to the curves and levels tool and how they work, the curves and levels tool adjusts the brightness and quality of an image, changing the shadows in an image so that they could stand out more or less depending on what you wanted the image to look like.

We were also introduced to a "seamless background", this is a basically a white piece of paper pinned to a board that been folded it's just a curve, so that the background would not have a line across it, this also made it easier to cut the background out when you use Photoshop.
We were also introduced to the curves and levels tool; these are tools that can adjust the brightness of an image.

Fourth week

In this week were asked to create our own freaky magazine advert, we were asked to sketch out 3 layouts for the magazine (I decided to choose a full spread advert (one page spread)) and the advert i decided to choose shampoo as the product I would be selling, two of the layouts were portrait orientation and one of them were landscape orientation.

You can control the detail of the work but not have to mess around with the shutter speed or the aperture. 

• Name two important consideration when attaching the tripod base plate to the bottom of camera?

Make sure that it is thumb tight and also make sure that the arrow is pointing towards the lens, also make sure that the leaver is pushed in fully so it does not pop back out again.

• Name three important considerations when using a red-head lighting kit

Make sure that you don't touch the "barn doors", don't touch the lens because it gets extremely hot and don't shake or drop the light because the filament inside becomes soft after the light's been on for an extended amount of time, also make sure the wire doesn't become a trip hazard. 

• When focusing the camera, what do we place on the object/subject to ensure it is the center of focus?

Make sure that the target is in the little green rectangles but make sure you take into consideration the rule of thirds.

• Name two technique we can use to adjust the brightness and contrast of a photograph?

Curves and levels (using a histogram), we can also adjust the shutter speed, the aperture (make the aperture larger/smaller) and the ISO.

These are 3 images i took, they are original and haven't been edited on Photoshop yet.

I am aiming to advertise a freaky drink with the pictures merged together.

Now the image has now been edited on Photoshop, the tool I used was the "curves tool", I did this because i wanted to make the juice inside the bottle look less faded (below).

This is the original image of my Harlequin Squash (it's not a pumpkin) before it was edited on Photoshop. 

This image is has now been edited so it doesn't have a yellow background, I also used the curves tool so that the image's light would balanced.
